Nightfall Berlin
A downloadable game for Windows
This is an early prototype used to gather feedback. If you find any issues, please send them through because they will help make Nightfall Berlin a better experience! P. S. Controller support is POSSIBLY working now, use at your own peril!
A pacifist detective RPG set in a dark reflection of 90s Berlin.
Inspired by Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, Deus Ex and Hellblazer, it weaves a tale of drug-fuelled conspiracy and self-actualization, that combines Germanic folklore with neo-noir themes.
Set to the backdrop of the dynamic, seductive and violent history of Berlin, it mixes imsim-style exploration with clue-hunting and case-solving detective gameplay.

Hi there - really excited by the promise of this game (really think we need a Bloodlines successor!) and enjoyed your pitch deck. Unfortunately, when I played your demo I ran into a succession of showstopper bugs and after restarting a few times, had to stop playing just after I entered the sewer (either I'm being stupid with that section or I was never taught how to effectively deal with those demons). Still - keen to see more!
(Btw, I'm the guy who was asking about this game on Reddit Tip of My Joystick!)
Hey so nice you played the prototype!
I uploaded a build without really thinking (or testing x_X) so sorry this version was a bit unstable. Have been and will be fixing up the major issues this week.
I'll post an full update with the new version soon :)

Please do, would be very interested!
Can't wait to see this get fleshed out more. Looks intriguing
Reworking most of the core mechanics now to be less like a combat-less imsim, and more like a proper detective RPG! Will keep you posted :)
Sweet, keep up the great work!
Thanks <3
Game starts, presented with a screen to start the game or exit the game, but there is no way to make a selection, there is no mouse pointer and no keyboard inputs work. I tried five times and gave up. Win11pro
Oh no :( Sorry that it didn't work for you!
Question to help debug this: Did you hear the music playing?

The demo was good fun. I liked the small quests and the characters as well as the 90s berlin nighttime vibe. I had a few small technical issues when playing. There was no sensitivity slider - it was too low for me and got quite exhausting to rotate the camera after some time. The first time I loaded into Neukölln I fell through the map. I tried again and then it worked. I fell off the balkony and died to fall damage for seemingly no reason after lockpicking the vent outside the cultist base. Also, maybe you could increase the movement speed to get around city a bit faster.
Overall, I had a great time and I wish you the best for the project :)
Greetings from Austria
Thanks so much for playing! Very glad you enjoyed it :))
Adding a sensitivity slider is definitely on the backlog (and just increased the speed by 30% baseline, had put it lower for recording a trailer whoops). I'll have a look at the other points as well, thanks for thinking with me!

This was so delightful, I only wanted to play for 15-20 minutes and then got sucked into the nightlife. I love the style, the writing is great, very funny, very intriguing plotting and the gameplay really floored me because it was so complex but not difficult.
I encountered a few bugs here and there but nothing that broke the game for me.
And I apologize for going through one hour and not using my powers at all but it shows how you can really choose how you want to play which is great (I also can’t stop thinking about the things I missed, so I might return to it).
OMG I'm watching your Let's Play now (you're the first person that's not my personal friend playing this) and I really love seeing it!
Thank you so much, super happy that you enjoyed it so much :))
